UAE Tech Firm Backs Blockchain Integration into Mobile Gaming

Scalo Technologies, a technology company based in the United Arab Emirates, is supporting efforts to transform mobile gaming by integrating blockchain technology. They have collaborated with mobile game developer Hexacore to enable players to truly own in-game assets and benefit from time spent in games.

Hexacore accelerated the development of their space fantasy multiplayer game ‘Pocket Space’, which has features allowing asset ownership. Scalo Technologies invested $3.5 million in Hexacore, recognizing blockchain’s potential to enhance user experience in gaming.

Scalo’s Abdumalik Mirakhmedov believes blockchain will improve gaming by focusing on asset ownership and seamless transactions, increasing player-perceived value and excitement.

A community launch of ‘Pocket Space’ is planned for Q4 2023, followed by a soft launch in the second half of 2024 and a global release in 2025. As mobile gaming grows, a challenge is retaining players given abundant options and shorter play sessions.

Scalo and Hexacore plan to expand the game’s presence beyond just phones and social media to mediums like cartoons, books, toys, clothing, billboards, etc. This robust community engagement aims to retain players long-term.

They also see mobile games as a gateway for new web3 users, with crypto wallet adoption increasing. Both traditional and web3 investors are attracted to mobile gaming, driving innovation and new experiences globally.
