Ripple is seeking to build a diverse and skilled team for its new Toronto office. The company has listed openings for roles such as Principal Engineers, Senior Software Engineers, Cloud Architects, and Technical Program Managers.
Specific areas of expertise being recruited include machine learning, data platforms, payments systems, and IT infrastructure. Ripple is also hiring interns and recent graduates to help establish its Canadian presence.
Ripple first launched operations in Toronto back in June 2022, marking the company’s debut in the Canadian market. The move was welcomed by Toronto Mayor John Tory as an opportunity to become a global leader in fintech and blockchain innovation.
Global Expansion Efforts
Beyond Canada, Ripple aims to allocate 80% of new hires to international markets this year according to CEO Brad Garlinghouse. This forms part of a broader strategy to expand globally amidst ongoing legal issues in the United States.
Garlinghouse has been vocal about his frustration with the lack of regulatory clarity from U.S. authorities. He has looked to grow Ripple’s footprint in regions with more crypto-friendly policies.
That said, Ripple does still have job openings listed for its U.S. offices in San Francisco and New York. But the main priority is beefing up staff in emerging markets.
With a wave of new hires planned from Toronto to Singapore, Ripple is poised to significantly grow its team this year. The blockchain payments firm is attracting top talent worldwide as part of its global expansion efforts.
