AliExpress Goes Global with Launching NFTs for International Sales

The Moment3! and AliExpress, a global e-commerce platform from Alibaba, have joined forces! to distribute NFTs. With a total supply of 5,555 tokens, the NFTs will be offered for purchase on June 25.

According to The Moment3!’s official Twitter feed, which was established in May 2023 and only has a small number of followers, “The Moment3! advocates for capturing every precious moment using NFTs and making them eternal on the blockchain.” It appears that neither the project’s official website nor its official Medium page has any content.

On Thursday, AliExpress first announced the partnership on its official Twitter account. Although AliExpress later removed the message, it is still visible on their partner “The Moment3!’s” Twitter profile.

The Moment3! is an NFT project that, according to its Discord channel, intends to collaborate with actual companies and give NFT owners advantages and exclusive rights above and beyond ordinary collectible values.

AliExpress has entered the crypto world before, but the anticipated NFT launch is not its first. On May 4, AliExpress was added to Shopping.io, a website that enables users to use cryptocurrencies to pay for items at major online retailers.

According to recent reports, AliExpress has added support for Floki Inu (FLOKI), a popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency, allowing users to purchase products on the platform using the cryptocurrency. The integration was facilitated through Shopping.io, a platform that enables consumers to make purchases with cryptocurrencies. AliExpress users paying with FLOKI are also eligible for a 10% cashback. The move is seen as a significant step towards the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies in e-commerce, as AliExpress is one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms.

Alibaba Group is a multinational conglomerate headquartered in China that specializes in e-commerce, retail, and technology. One of its most prominent subsidiaries is AliExpress, an international e-commerce site that allows customers from around the world to purchase goods directly from Chinese manufacturers and sellers. Despite being headquartered in China, AliExpress does not conduct business with residents of the Chinese mainland due to regulatory restrictions and the company’s focus on international markets.

In September 2021, the Chinese government issued a ban on all cryptocurrency transactions, including trading and mining, as part of a broader crackdown on the industry [1]. In addition to this ban, the government has also issued multiple warnings regarding the risks associated with NFT speculation, including the potential for fraud and market manipulation [2]. These warnings reflect the government’s concerns about the potential negative impact of these new technologies on the stability of the financial system and the security of investors.
