RON and BEAM Tokens Rise with Gaming Crypto Trend

Popular gaming-related cryptocurrencies continue to see strong growth, keeping pace with top tokens like Bitcoin">Bitcoin and Ethereum">Ethereum.

According to data from CoinGecko, RON, the native token of the Ronin sidechain built for gaming, has surged 21% over the past 24 hours, hitting $1.75. This caps off a week of blistering growth for RON, which has climbed 67% week-over-week and a staggering 197% in the last 30 days.

Analysts attribute Ronin’s meteoric rise to growing user interest in Axie Infinity and other blockchain-based games migrating to its network. Ronin provides the infrastructure for these games to operate with faster speeds and lower costs.

On a similar note, Beam, a subsidiary gaming network of Avalanche focused on NFTs">NFTs and metaverses, uses the Ethereum-based BEAM token. Beam’s parent company, Merit Circle, announced plans on Wednesday to support zkEVM tools on Beam, allowing seamless integration with the Ethereum scaling solution Immutable. This news catalyzed a huge spike in BEAM prices, with the token hitting an all-time high of $0.017 before stabilizing around $0.0162. BEAM now boasts gains of 6% today, 78% over seven days, and a staggering 238% over 30 days.

As major gaming projects turn to networks like Ronin and Beam to avoid Ethereum congestion and fees, their native tokens have charted remarkable growth. Their continued adoption for blockchain-based games points to sustained momentum for these so-called “gaming cryptos” moving forward.
