Discord Crypto Trading Bot Shuts Down After ‘Critical Exploit’

The abrupt shutdown of the None Trading cryptocurrency and binance-nft-marketplace-halts-polygon-nft-sales-and-the-sandbox-staking">NFT trading bot on Discord has left users high and dry. The bot cited a “critical exploit” leading to significant financial losses and the departure of core team members.

None Trading billed itself as an all-in-one trading solution within Discord. Users could access basic features for free or pay 300 NONE tokens for premium services. The bot charged commissions on trades.

However, None Trading announced on September 20th that it lost funding, team tokens, and key staff members due to the unspecified exploit. With infrastructure and finances compromised, ongoing operations were impossible.

The project’s Discord server, Telegram channel, and website all went offline following the statement. The NONE token plunged nearly 80% to $0.074 after the news broke.

None Trading claimed a $16.5 million market cap when launching NONE last month. The trading bot had operated since May 2022 and was led by an anonymous CEO called Carve.

With the bot now defunct, users have a 30-day window to claim any outstanding rewards. The sudden demise serves as a reminder of the risks associated with yielding control of crypto assets to a centralized third party.
