The crypto verse’s growing infiltration of haute couture escalates this week as luxury NFT-powered fashion brand 9dcc unveils its pioneering on-chain collection at Paris Fashion Week’s NFT Paris event.
Founded by crypto influencer Gmoney, 9dcc is staking its claim as the world’s premier fashion house fusing high-end design with Web3 technology. Its latest collection set to debut on February 23rd features classic luxury apparel embedded with near-field communication (NFC) chips linking each physical item to a unique Ethereum NFT.
Beyond conveying provenance and unlocking community benefits, this digitization allows owners to bridge their 9dcc garments with other crypto-connected brands and metaverse environments.
As described in the brand’s statement: “Conceived by the visionary mind of @gmoneyNFT, the first crypto-centric luxury brand presents a pioneering ‘full fashion collection on-chain,’ setting a historic milestone in the fusion of high fashion with blockchain technology.”
Drawing aesthetic inspiration from the iconic style of old American gangster films, the gender-neutral collection dubbed “Crypto Mob” offers elegant takes on timeless pieces like letterman jackets, trench coats, and plaid trousers.
On conceiving the line, founder Gmoney said he wanted to spotlight the positive risk-taking spirit of the crypto industry while rebutting associations with fraud propagated by bad actors like FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried.
Fresh off its Phygital Brand of the Year award in Davos, 9dcc is cementing its trailblazing position in Web3 apparel with an event presence throughout Paris Fashion Week.
Limited collection items will be available for purchase in-person and online starting February 24th, including custom engraving services for the integrated NFC chips.
