VeVe, the popular NFT platform on Ethereum, has launched a new digital comics platform called VeVe Comics. Their inaugural partnership is with Marvel Comics, allowing fans to access over 300 digital comic issues featuring heroes like Spider-Man, X-Men, and Black Panther.
What makes VeVe Comics unique is that in addition to standard digital comic copies, they also offer limited edition NFT versions. These NFT comics are minted on Immutable X and come with multiple exclusive cover variants. Owners can view them in augmented reality via the VeVe app and resell them on VeVe’s marketplace.
The NFT comics have slightly higher prices compared to the standard digital versions to account for their limited edition nature. However, VeVe CEO David Yu believes this immersive collecting experience is what digital comics fans have been wanting.
While the Marvel partnership kicks things off, VeVe plans to collaborate with other major comic brands as well. The company, founded in 2018, has already made a name for itself with digital collectibles from big entertainment franchises like Disney and DC Comics.
By combining comics with NFTs and AR, VeVe is aiming to breathe new life into the digital comics space and foster an engaging collector community around these beloved stories and characters.
