The outspoken CEO of prominent exchange Binance, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, has declared that his company intends to devote more than $1 billion to purchases and investments in 2022. The largest project undertaken by Binance in this area is the $500 million funding of Elon Musk’s proposed acquisition of Twitter.

The action is being taken as Japan strives to embrace more web3-friendly policies and adopts a more open attitude toward cryptocurrencies. The exchange’s increased interest in the land of the rising sun is also attributed to the “substantial potential for user growth.”
