Friendzone Builds on Polygon Blockchain for Social Media Revolution

Friendzone and Polygon have teamed up to revolutionize social media through blockchain technology. Their goal is to foster flourishing communities of influencers by utilizing real-time adaptive pricing and reward distribution systems. This partnership will allow developers to create innovative new apps tailored specifically for their audiences.

Launching initially on Polygon’s proof-of-stake blockchain today, Friendzone has plans to eventually migrate to Polygon’s cutting-edge zkEVM layer later on. According to CEO Kevin Lu, selecting Polygon PoS as the starting point was a strategic choice driven by shared priorities around scalability and a consumer-centric approach to Web3 development.

Friendzone offers a dual-layered platform structure. The user-friendly surface allows people to effectively manage social connections and activities. Underneath lies LayerSocial – the critical foundation enabling developers to construct novel apps leveraging the platform’s expansive social data graph and connections.

Before blockchain integration, Friendzone facilitated early user onboarding and social engagement via an off-chain application. Developed by pioneers from major crypto projects like Band Protocol, Synthetix, and Koinly, the platform is geared towards ecosystem growth through collaborations with other applications.

Friendzone saw over 600% growth in registered users from December to January, while users completed over 10,000 quests in January alone. Initially, access was limited, leading to over 3,000 pre-launch registrations. It aims to build on the initial buzz generated by projects like Friend.tech’s influencer monetization through chatroom services.
