As Elon Musk launches Twitter Blue Subscription, Biden accuses Twitter of spreading lies throughout the world.

Twitter Introduces $7.99/Month Blue Subscription

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Twitter, has started to roll out the Twitter Blue membership service. Users of the social media site saw on Friday that they could now join up for Twitter Blue verification for $7.99 per month.

“Starting today, we’re bringing fantastic new features to Twitter Blue,” says a tweet. The service is now accessible in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

The notification mentions three “coming soon” services for Twitter Blue members. To begin, the business said that Blue customers would only see “half the advertising,” but they will be “far better ones.” “Because you’re helping Twitter fight bots, we’re going to reward you with half the advertisements and make them twice as relevant,” the social media company said. Furthermore, Blue subscribers will be able to “upload lengthier movies” and will receive “Priority ranking for quality material.” Twitter clarified:

Your material will be prioritized in responses, mentions, and search results. Scams, spam, and bots are less visible as a result of this.

A customer inquired about the availability of the Twitter Blue membership service in India. “Hopefully, less than a month,” he said.

Musk also disclosed on Saturday:

Twitter will soon introduce the option to attach long-form text to tweets, putting a stop to the ridiculousness of notepad snapshots… Then comes creator monetization for all types of material.

Musk responded to a statement about YouTube providing artists 55% of ad income by saying, “We can top that.” In a separate post, Tesla CEO Elon Musk criticized Twitter search inefficiencies, saying, “Fixing search is a key priority.”

President Biden is concerned about the spread of lies on Twitter.

According to Reuters, US President Joe Biden expressed his reservations about what Twitter has become since Musk took over the social media network on Friday. Twitter lay off half of its employees on Friday, although the firm claimed the cutbacks were smaller in the team in charge of preventing disinformation spread.

According to reports, Biden stated:

What are we all concerned about now: Elon Musk goes out and buys a company that distributes — spews misinformation all over the globe… There are no editors in America anymore. There aren’t any editors. How can we expect children to grasp what is at stake?

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden was emphatic on the need to minimize hate speech and misinformation. “That view applies to Twitter, Facebook, and any other social media site where people may propagate disinformation,” she said.

The White House removed a tweet last week when Twitter offered information refuting its assertion. The White House tweeted on Oct. 1: “Seniors are enjoying the highest raise in their social security payments in ten years thanks to President Biden’s efforts.” It was removed the next day when Twitter provided context stating that the rise was linked to a 1972 statute mandating automatic increases based on fluctuations in the cost of living. “Context is written by individuals who use Twitter and appears when judged useful by others,” according to an explanation accompanying the annotation.

According to a White House official, the tweet was removed because “the argument was incomplete.” Confirming the deletion of the tweet, Jean-Pierre indicated during a news conference on Wednesday
