The head of cryptocurrency exchange binance-bnb-ico-flop-excess-tokens-held">Binance, CZ, has taken to Elon Musk’s X platform to spread the word about his company’s new social media offering called Binance Feed. CZ is pitching it as a rival crypto discussion hub to X.
In a post on X, CZ announced the launch of Binance Feed – which he refers to as the “global town square for crypto discussions.” This is the same terminology Elon Musk previously used to describe his vision for X as a digital public square.
CZ encouraged the crypto community to start following him on Binance Feed where he currently has zero followers. He promised to “aggressively” follow early adopters in return.
The move appears designed to incentivize crypto users to spend time on Binance Feed and raise the platform’s popularity. CZ seems eager to develop it into an X analogue focused on cryptocurrency topics.
It remains to be seen whether Binance Feed will adopt features similar to Elon’s updates on X, like long-form reading and live video. The launch of Binance’s social platform follows the “Threads” app recently unveiled by Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg as an Instagram-based X clone.
The flurry of X competitors highlights the platform’s significant impact within crypto. But with Elon Musk’s headstart, CZ and Binance face an uphill battle to divert crypto conversations over to their newly launched Feed service.
