Neurotechnology startup Prophetic AI aims to provide people an easy way to access lucid dreams through new innovations in neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
Lucid dreams, where dreamers become aware they are dreaming, can offer insights into oneself and the subconscious mind. To tap into this, Prophetic AI is creating a non-invasive neural device called Halo to induce and stabilize lucid dreams.
The crown-shaped Halo uses ultrasound to precisely target brain regions related to lucid dreaming. Prophetic AI plans to analyze the resulting dream data using AI systems as a “medium” to translate the information.
Co-founder Eric Wollberg views lucid dreams as “particle accelerators for consciousness” that can give dreamers prophetic wisdom. The company aims to make these experiences widely achievable through its tech.
While some are skeptical, 50% of people surveyed report experiencing lucid dreams. Prophetic AI is working with research centers on testing and plans to release Halo in late 2025 after reservation pre-orders.
Critics caution that continuous lucid dreaming can disrupt sleep and mental health. But Prophetic AI believes decoding dreams with AI can significantly advance consciousness research and self-understanding.
