Snoop Dogg Video Collaboration Combines ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ With Web3

The legendary West Coast rapper debuted a music video for “Crip Ya Enthusiasm” on Saturday, which featured a digital performance recorded by Web3 startup Astro Project. Additionally, the company is responsible for the video’s digital setting.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme song, which was remixed for the song, is a recurring theme in the music video, which was animated in Unreal Engine. From his attire to his distinctive hairline and glasses, comedian Larry David’s avatar resembles Snoop Dogg.

David is also not new to Web3. He appeared in an FTX commercial that earlier this year was shown to millions of homes during the Super Bowl. In addition, his TV show’s theme song was preserved as a 1-of-1 NFT.

The release of the music video was timed with Astro Project’s distribution of 11,111 digital donuts, which function as digital keys that can be used to access the video’s assets, including 3D models and character animations.

Additionally, the business has made tutorials and guides available that show donut owners how to design custom Unreal Engine scenes and animations. The company claims that because a donut is typically one of the first things a 3D artist learns to create, it decided to make the access key look like one.

Snoop Dogg’s motion capture was used in the music video, and it was captured at the Santa Monica, California-based “Portal” studio of Astro Project.

The project has seen a total trading volume of 0.227 Ethereum, or just under $300, since the donuts began trading on OpenSea on October 13. On the Astro Project website, the donuts can be purchased for.06 Ethereum, or about $80, and as of Sunday afternoon, just over 250 had been produced.

Crip Ya Enthusiasm made its debut on Snoop Dogg’s album “Bacc On Death Row” in February. This was the first record he put out after buying the rights to Death Row Records, the record company that gave him his start.

Snoop Dogg and Gala Music provided a unique line of NFTs for its release, allowing customers to buy items like individual songs as digital collectibles. An NFT for the song Crip Ya Enthusiasm is currently trading on OpenSea for 0.8 Ethereum, or just over $1,000, and the project has seen trading volume of 944 Ethereum, or $1.2 million.

The association continues the rapper’s involvement in various Web3 projects. Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg and Eminem performed as NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection at the MTV Video Music Awards.

He made plans to open a Los Angeles dessert shop with a real-world BAYC theme this past summer.

In the metaverse project The Sandbox, where one person paid the equivalent of $450,000 to be his neighbor, Snoop Dogg also owns virtual land. He has long been an NFT collector and, despite the market downturn, he is still optimistic, claiming that it “weeded out” undesirable individuals and endeavors.

A consumer advocacy group singled out the celebrity for having a disproportionately large impact on the market after actor Anthony Hopkins once asked him which NFT he should buy first. The celebrity has developed into such a well-known voice in the Web3 space.
