China Mobile Launches NFT Marketplace in Hong Kong

China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK), a prominent mobile network operator in Hong Kong, has launched its own NFT">NFT marketplace called LinkNFT. It marks Hong Kong’s first telecom-backed NFT trading platform.

The launch coincides with CMHK’s MyLink lifestyle application surpassing 7 million users. LinkNFT will provide NFT minting services to enterprises, enabling creation, trade and circulation of digital assets across social fi, defi, game fi and other web3 spaces.

LinkNFT uses a trio of cross-chain standards for seamless interoperability between different blockchains. This allows easy access to Ethereum-based NFT marketplaces like OpenSea through MyLink’s digital wallet LinKey.

CMHK has collaborated with various sectors to release over 30 NFTs on LinkNFT at launch, including 20 commemorative NFTs from its MyLink ArLink series and 15 associated with music platforms like Migu Music. It expects to exceed 500,000 total NFT issuances.

MyLink has also upgraded its Metaverse offering into a 3D immersive experience where users can create digital homes and explore a virtual Hong Kong. This enables citizens to convert Meta IDs into unique NFTs and cultivate a digital community.

CMHK Executive Director Tan Hui said the new marketplace will empower enterprises to offer novel consumer rights via NFTs while users enjoy collectible and circulation value.
