SWIFT Selects Ethereum’s Linea Layer-2 for Blockchain Payment Platform
SWIFT has officially confirmed it will build its blockchain payment settlement infrastructure on Ethereum layer-2 network Linea, with over 30 major banks including Bank of America, Citi, and JPMorgan Chase participating in trials. The move brings SWIFT’s $150 trillion annual payment volume into the blockchain ecosystem and positions Linea as a competitor to existing crypto payment networks like Ripple’s XRP Ledger.
