BTCO was added in the past week, joining BlackRock’s spot bitcoin ETF application on the DTCC’s “ETF Products” list. The DTCC typically adds new ETF tickers ahead of a potential launch. However, appearance on the list does not guarantee regulatory approval.
Invesco and Galaxy Digital reactivated their spot bitcoin ETF application in June amid a surge of similar filings, sparked by BlackRock. The SEC has yet to approve a spot bitcoin ETF despite the growing interest from major financial institutions. The Invesco Galaxy ETF advancing to the DTCC site keeps it in the running for potential future approval.
