The world of crypto-fueled games on the popular messaging app Telegram has been experiencing a surge in popularity, with the highly successful Notcoin paving the way for other projects to follow suit. As the deadline for claiming Notcoin (NOT) tokens approaches, new games like Hamster Kombat and TapSwap are gaining momentum, capitalizing on the growing interest in this unique gaming ecosystem.
Notcoin, which saw an impressive token launch earlier this year, has set June 16 as the final day for players to claim their NOT tokens. The project’s token immediately became one of the biggest gaming token debuts of 2024, reaching a market cap of over $1 billion as millions of players rushed to claim their rewards. Since then, the token’s value has continued to rise, even briefly surpassing a $2 billion market cap in early June.
While Notcoin’s core coin-tapping gameplay has been temporarily paused, the team has promised to reintroduce it along with other games, aiming to create a Netflix-like platform for social games. In the meantime, players who staked their tokens will receive user level upgrades, unlocking additional earning opportunities and rewards as the game expands.
Capitalizing on Notcoin’s success, other Telegram-based games like Hamster Kombat and TapSwap have announced plans to launch their own tokens on The Open Network. Hamster Kombat, a crypto exchange CEO simulator, has already amassed a staggering 150 million Telegram players ahead of its TON token integration, scheduled for July. TapSwap has also joined the fray, revealing its intention to launch a token on The Open Network, further fueling the hype around this burgeoning crypto gaming ecosystem.
