Pixelverse Joins TON Network as PixelTap Game Surges

Pixelverse, a rapidly growing cyberpunk-themed crypto gaming ecosystem, has announced its intention to launch a token on The Open Network (TON), capitalizing on the success of its Telegram-based game PixelTap. This move aligns Pixelverse with other popular Telegram games like Notcoin, Hamster Kombat, and Catizen, which are also building on the TON network.

PixelTap, the flagship game in the Pixelverse ecosystem, combines clicker mechanics with combat elements. Players earn in-game coins to upgrade their robots, which they then use in frantic battles against opponents. The game’s success has contributed significantly to Pixelverse’s impressive user base, which now stands at 35 million players. In addition to PixelTap, Pixelverse offers a web browser-based quest battler set in the same universe, currently in its “early preview” phase as it prepares for an alpha release.

The upcoming Pixelverse token, PIXFI, will play a crucial role in the ecosystem. With a total supply of 5 billion, PIXFI will be used for trading, crafting, and battling within Pixelverse. This integration of a native token is expected to enhance the gaming experience and create a more robust in-game economy. The decision to launch on TON further solidifies the network’s position as the preferred platform for major web3 gaming projects utilizing the Telegram app.

Pixelverse’s move to join the TON network comes at a time of significant growth in the Telegram gaming space. The success of projects like Notcoin, which launched its NOT token in May and became the largest gaming token of 2024, has paved the way for other developers to explore similar opportunities. As Pixelverse stated in response to the announcement, “TON and Telegram are paving the way for mass crypto adoption, and we are excited to be part of this journey.” This sentiment reflects the growing optimism surrounding the potential for blockchain-based games to reach mainstream audiences through popular messaging platforms like Telegram.
