Trump 2024 Campaign Embraces Crypto Donations

The preparations for the 2024 US Presidential elections are in full swing, and Trump’s team has declared that it will open its doors for crypto contributions. This comes at a time when Trump is facing criminal charges in various states and he prepares for an electoral battle with the current President Joe Biden.

From the recent notice, the Trump 2024 campaign resulted in a new fundraising page that enables acceptable identifiers to contribute through cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ether, Doge, Shiba Inu, XRP, USD coins, Solana, and 0x (ZRX). It also cited criticism of cryptocurrencies by Senator Elizabeth Warren who the company claimed is using Biden as the ‘official surrogate’ in Congress.

Remarkably, Trump resolved to accept crypto donations since he is currently involved in multiple scandals related to the law. The former president is now facing a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud concerning affidavits in New York, criminally attempting to interfere with the certification of presidential electors in Georgia and the District of Columbia, and obstruction of the removal of classified documents in Florida.

However, those are legal aspects of the issue, Trump still stands as the likely candidate for the Republican party in the 2024 election. He has already committed to two, October 3 and October 22, and versus President Biden the presumptive Democratic nominee, two this, June 27 and September 10.

Although Trump’s campaign accepted the crypto donations, the official “issues” page which presents the stances of the campaign does not contain information on digital assets or blockchain. On the other hand, Joe Biden sits in the presidency, and in 2022 he signed an executive order to develop a framework for digital assets regulation but he is quite limited in offering general comments on digital assets.
