Today marks an exciting day for the metaverse, as the iconic scientist Dr. Bomkus launches his much-anticipated trails on The Sandbox starting at 2 pm UTC. This groundbreaking experience consists of six time-sensitive trials spread across uniquely crafted virtual worlds, open to all with a Sandbox account.
While anyone can partake in the trials, only holders of the coveted Bomkus Passes can join the competitive leaderboards and vie for amazing prizes. These include Crystals – exchangeable for $SAND and sought-after NFTs – as well as a share of a hefty collective prize pool of 195,000 $SAND.
The drama-loving Dr. Bomkus himself hosts this event, despite his reputation as both an ally and antagonist in The Sandbox universe. His flair for theatrics is undeniable.
Navigating the trials requires strategy. The higher one ranks on the leaderboards, the more significant the potential prizes. For each set of six boards, rank 1 receives 1 Crystal, ranks 2-10 earn 5,000 $SAND, ranks 11-500 get 200 $SAND, and ranks 501-1000 are awarded 100 $SAND.
The colored Crystals are used to unlock Dr. Bomkus’ legendary Vault, with each color corresponding to one of the six whimsical trial names – ‘Yellow: Hangar Games’, ‘Cyan: Royal Flushed’, ‘Black: Temple of Dum-Dum’, and more.
For newcomers eager to rank on the boards, Bomkus Passes can be obtained by exchanging LAND for two passes, an Avatar for one, or by purchasing one on the secondary market.
While passes are needed for the leaderboards, the trials themselves are open for all to explore and immerse themselves in Dr. Bomkus’ world. Both seasoned Sandbox veterans and wide-eyed newbies are welcome to challenge their limits and claim rewards beyond their imagination.
