Shiba+Inu">Shiba Inu’s lead Discord administrator, DaVinci, has issued a statement reassuring the community that three manual SHIB token burns utilizing fees from the Shibarium platform are still slated to occur, despite delays that have stirred impatience among holders.
While not providing an exact new date for the burns initially promised on December 14th-16th, DaVinci cautioned members to avoid spreading misinformation and said the team will share an update once the delay reasons are ascertained. For now, he urged patience per the rules.
The delayed burns have frustrated many holders given SHIB’s 88% price collapse from its all-time high, which some blame on still elevated supply. Over 410 trillion SHIB have been burned so far out of a remaining 589 trillion circulating. Further decreasing supply via burns may bolster value.
For now, SHIB trades around $0.00000977, down 2% in 24 hours amid the broader crypto decline. Despite community unrest, confirmation from the project moderator that planned burns will still happen may help restore confidence going forward if executed soon.
