The auction for the 100 ultra-rate pets is currently underway on OpenSea and runs through Thursday, October 13 at 2.25 p.m. UTC.
The high bid, roughly $2,750, has been made on Tamadoge #1, which has a beach background, glasses, and a cowboy hat.
Other significant bids have also been placed; Tamadoge #42 is currently selling for 2ETH.
At the 1ETH starting price, only 30 of the NFT pets have received the maximum bids.
What exactly are Ultra-Rare Tamadoge Pets?
The heart of the Tamaverse will be pets, not just the meme coin TAMA, which soared after its initial exchange (IEO) offering at the end of September.
Tamadoge was created to provide holders with long-term utility and use cases, unlike other meme coins, and the ultra-rare pets are the foundation of the ecosystem.
The P2E game, which was selected as our best NFT title and is styled after the 90s craze Tamagotchi, has players feed, care for, and raise their pets until they are adults using toys, treats, and food purchased from a pet store with TAMA.
Players compete against one another to climb a global leaderboard once they are fully grown in order to earn rewards and prizes.
Other P2E arcade games will be released later on the roadmap, and an app that uses augmented reality to let pets leap out of the screen and go on adventures with their owners is currently being developed.
There will be a total of 21,100 NFT pets made available in three rarity tiers: ultra-rare, rare, and common.
The stats of the 100 ultra-rare pets will be enhanced, increasing their likelihood of placing first by 90%.
A release date will be announced in the coming days and weeks for the 1,000 rare pets and the 20,000 common pets.
