Ethereum Blast, a mobile game that is free-to-play and offers cryptocurrency rewards, may be a suitable option for those seeking a relaxed gaming experience. Although the color-matching puzzle stages are relatively simplistic, the game can provide an enjoyable distraction while also allowing players to earn a small amount of Ethereum or Bitcoin. While I did not find the game to be particularly thrilling, it is a decent way to accumulate some cryptocurrency while playing.
Bling Financial has developed a free mobile game for iOS and Android devices, which is a basic color-matching puzzle game with a sci-fi theme that incorporates Ethereum symbolism into the menus and interface. However, this should not discourage non-crypto enthusiasts from playing the game, as the incorporation of Ethereum symbolism is minor and does not detract from the gameplay experience.
Ethereum Blast is a puzzle game that involves the simple objective of tapping on groups of two or more stones of the same color to remove them from the board. As stones are cleared, new ones take their place, potentially leading to larger matches that can earn the player power-ups. Each level has a specific target of stones or items to clear within a limited number of moves, adding an element of challenge to the game.
The game mechanics of Ethereum Blast are straightforward, with the player using simple taps to clear blocks or activate power-ups. However, the game itself is not particularly challenging and can be described as mindless, with an abundance of power-ups available to assist the player. In my experience, I only lost once while playing through almost 50 stages.
Nevertheless, as a casual mobile game, it provides a pleasant diversion, similar to Tetro Tiles, another mobile puzzle game with cryptocurrency rewards.
The amount of cryptocurrency that can be earned by playing Ethereum Blast may differ depending on the individual player. In my experience, I was able to earn approximately $0.20 worth of cryptocurrency after playing for approximately two hours. Bling Financial’s game rewards players with Bling points, which can be converted into Ethereum or Bitcoin and subsequently transferred to a oinbase">Coinbase or PayPal account. I chose to cash out in ETH, but the USD value would have been equivalent if I had chosen Bitcoin instead.
While the earnings from playing Ethereum Blast are not substantial, they are still higher than what I earned from playing Bling Financial’s Bitcoin Solitaire, which only resulted in approximately $0.09 worth of Bitcoin earned over a two-hour period. However, it is important to note that the earning potential in Ethereum Blast may decrease as the amount of Bling points awarded for playing each stage appears to decrease over time. Additionally, the game may not remain engaging for an extended period of time.
It is worth noting that the number of advertisements that must be viewed to earn even a small amount of cryptocurrency can be overwhelming. After completing almost every level, players are subjected to a full-screen video advertisement that lasts for approximately one minute or longer before it can be skipped. Considering the brevity of each level, players may end up spending as much time watching advertisements as they do playing the game itself.
The question of whether the time investment required to earn approximately $0.10 per hour is worthwhile remains subjective. Personally, I would prefer to spend my time playing a more immersive mobile puzzle game that does not offer cryptocurrency rewards, such as Threes, Grindstone, or even Candy Crush Saga, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. However, if the goal is to accumulate cryptocurrency while playing games, Ethereum Blast is a viable option.
