The metaverse game will use the funds to expand features, marketing, and third-party developer tools. Upland also plans to bridge its EOS-based Spark token to Ethereum as Sparklet later this year.

The round was led by EOS Ventures, marking the firm’s first gaming investment. Upland said it now has over 3 million registered players.
