Securitize Boosts BlackRock’s Tokenized Fund with USDC Integration

Securitize, a firm specializing in asset tokenization, has introduced a new feature for BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). The company now offers conversions between USDC stablecoin and U.S. dollars for the fund, aiming to streamline investments for traditional finance participants.

BUIDL, a leading tokenized treasury fund, allows institutional investors to earn yields on dollar investments through tokenized shares. These shares represent investments in secure assets, primarily U.S. Treasury bills. The fund’s tokens exist on the Ethereum blockchain, with Securitize working alongside BlackRock in their issuance.

This development comes as the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) sector experiences significant growth. BUIDL has seen a substantial increase in assets under management, cementing its position as a major player in the tokenized fund space.

Integrating USDC-USD conversions for BUIDL marks an important step in combining traditional finance with blockchain technology. This move could accelerate the adoption of tokenized assets among institutional investors, further bridging the gap between conventional and digital finance.

As the RWA sector expands, other financial entities have entered the market with similar offerings, indicating a growing trend toward tokenized investment products.
