Shiba Inu, the popular memecoin, is making headlines once again. The developers of SHIB Token recently announced their support for female workers in the cryptocurrency sphere through the creation of a fund to empower women on the blockchain. This exciting development was unveiled at The International Women of Blockchain (IWB) event in Washington, DC. The announcement comes just a week after the SXSW 2023 Experience in Austin, Texas, where Shiba Inu’s technology executives presented their plans for Shiba Inu’s metaverse.
SHIB: The Metaverse, currently in development with The Third Floor (TTF), an audiovisual studio based in Hollywood, California, aims to create a virtual world where people can connect, interact, and create. During the SXSW, the first virtual hub was unveiled – The WAGMI Temple. Participants were able to meditate together and experience the hub first-hand. A flyover of the temple is currently available on SHIB: The Metaverse’s new website.
In addition to their metaverse project, Shiba Inu developers also created a support fund for women to build projects in Shibarium, the Layer-2 upgrade for Shiba Inu. Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama initiated the fund with a contribution of $25,000, followed by NFAI with an additional $10,000. SHIB: The Metaverse Chief Advisor Marcie Jastrow, Sherri Cuono, and Lisa M. Watts, all female professionals working in the SHIB Token’s executive team, also contributed towards the fund, ultimately raising $50,000.
Shytoshi Kusama emphasized the importance of universal participation in the project, stating that blockchain can only achieve full adoption when it is accessible and utilized by all genders and nationalities. This support fund for women is a positive step towards creating a more inclusive and diverse community within the cryptocurrency sphere.
