Former Twitter Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Tesla boss Elon Musk may be attending the Blockchain Futuristic Conference where Shiba Inu’s Shibarium, a Layer-2 scaling protocol, will be formally launched.
Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer for Shiba Inu, hinted at his hope to have Musk in attendance in a subtle tweet responding to a photo of Musk wearing a shirt that says “I Love Canada.” The conference, which will take place between August 13-17, 2023 in Toronto, Canada, will host the official launch of Shibarium following months of updates.
He reposted Musk’s tweet, showing himself wearing an “I Love Canada” shirt. He tweeted, “See you at #Blockchainfuturistconference #Shibarmy.”
Shibarium is an Ethereum-based solution that aims to enhance scalability on the Ethereum network. The beta test, known as Puppynet, went live on the mainnet earlier this year, recording over 25 million transactions and an increase in wallet addresses to 16.98 million. It is designed to provide developers with the ability to create Decentralized Applications (DApps), integrate them into different businesses, and power projects. As we approach the official launch of Shibarium, it is expected that the number of transactions and wallet addresses will continue to grow.
Musk has been indirectly promoting the Shiba Inu coin, a dog-themed meme coin, and referenced it in a recent tweet. The projected price surge of the coin is expected to grab investors’ attention following the roll-out of Shibarium and its potential impact in the crypto industry. During the Blockchain Futurist Conference, Shibarium will also hold a multi-month hackathon.
