Gaming giant Ubisoft is making waves in the blockchain space with its latest venture, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. The company has announced a free NFT mint for 75,000 in-game champion figurines on the Oasys network, a blockchain platform designed for gaming.
The mint will occur in two stages. First, owners of the previously released Warlords NFTs will have exclusive access to claim up to five champion NFTs. Following this, a public mint will open on July 18, allowing anyone with a Ubisoft account and Oasys wallet to participate.
Champions Tactics, Ubisoft’s original blockchain-based strategy game, recently concluded its first closed beta test. To ensure fairness in the NFT distribution, Ubisoft has partnered with Aleph.im, utilizing their random selection technology.
This initiative marks Ubisoft’s ongoing commitment to exploring blockchain technology in gaming. As the company prepares for the full launch of Champions Tactics later this year, this free NFT mint serves as an important step in engaging the blockchain gaming community and introducing players to their new intellectual property.
