Animoca Brands is a leader in advancing digital property rights and ownership models for video games, seeking to revolutionize the industry through integration with blockchain and metaverse technologies.
The core focus of Farcana is developing next-generation multiplayer online games that provide players with true asset ownership and player-controlled economies by utilizing blockchain technology. Farcana brings together traditional AAA game development with the innovation of blockchain to deliver seamless, deeply immersive gaming experiences.
Their flagship game, also titled Farcana, is a competitive 3rd-person arena shooter built on Unreal Engine 5 that will allow players to truly own their in-game assets. Players can earn real Bitcoin rewards through integrated gameplay mechanics and a marketplace where virtual assets can be freely exchanged. Through this model, Farcana is reinventing the team-based FPS genre and building a gaming world where large volumes of financial transactions occur transparently on-chain.
Animoca Brands’ strategic investment will mainly assist Farcana to further its integration with the Bitcoin ecosystem as the studio gears up for a token launch and full game release in early 2024. Additionally, the funds will help Farcana enhance the core title Farcana as well as scale up operations.
